As we all know France is a country that is rich in history, art and architecture. So a trip in Paris would not be complete without visiting the most well known Palace of Versailles. The Palace of Versailles has become the trademark of French royalty. Perhaps this is one of the most popular tourist sight in Paris. Every inches of this place is absolutely beautiful. An afternoon visit here especially during summer is really quite impressive. The Palace is spectacular, gardens and flowers are blooming, but don’t be surprise of the massive people during summer, long queue and it’s very crowded.
How to get there:
The easiest way to get there is to take the train- RER- C5 line. Take the metro from anywhere in the city to get on to the yellow line. It takes approximately 40 minutes and you need to get off on the stop Chateau Versailles. Tickets cost is around 10 euros per round trip. There is also Buses en route to Versailles. Buses leave from Pont De Sevres station and take around 30-40 minutes. Once you reach the station, you will know which way to go, just follow the people.
Notes: The palace is closed every Monday. The gardens can be accessed for free as well but have limited access. You can also hire buggy.
